Our story:

The Friends of the Parks Golf Tournament began as the major fundraising event of the Parks Foundation. Its theme was to bring people together to have fun while providing much needed support to Alameda’s parks. It is a unique tournament conducted as a 1:00 PM Shotgun start at the local golf complex in a 4 person scramble/blind bogey format with a number of holes having exciting challenges such as “play one club through the entire hole”, putt with a tool other than a golf club”, “hit from your opposite side”, and the beloved “toilet seat hole” that forces your approach shot to be perfectly placed.  Following golf, a social hour is provided along with a delicious chicken and pasta meal, silent auction, and a brief awards ceremony.  Nearly 90% of the revenue raised has gone toward the installation of new playground equipment at Longfellow Park, Godfrey Park, Woodstock Park and Littlejohn Park. Tee sponsorships beginning at $100 are available. We hope to see you on May 22nd for this fun event supporting Alameda’s parks and recreation.
